So listen. There’s a lot going on in Egypt right now. I don’t know a lot of the details, but I know enough.
The events in Tunisia has inspired demonstrations and protests against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak (who has been “president” for 30 years) by the Egyptian Citizens. They are being met with Tear Gas, Batons, Torture, Imprisonment, and death. Bullets. And not the rubber kind that we in the USA use when a protest turns violent. This a revolution, folks. This is big.
The Egyptian Government has cut off the internet, SMS, Cells, and (possibly) some landlines from ALL of Egypt. The citizens are organizing a huge demonstration tomorrow (Friday, the 28th) at Noon (Egypt time).
Regardless of where you live, who you are, and what you believe, no human should have to be repressed by a terrible government. So put aside your petty differences and unjust hatred for anyone, just for a day, and send thoughts and prayers to the Egyptians. If they succeed, this will be huge.
I am no expert, and without being there it’s impossible for me to follow all that’s happening. I’m learning more, and following it best I can. Here are some links for you to learn a little more. All I ask is you raise awareness. Reblog this. Post it on Facebook. Do whatever you must. Just do something.
